The University of Wisconsin was about to a offer a 12-credit course to evaluate and question the effects of spirituality and religion on healing and health. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) sued the university to stop the program and to terminate the university's involvement in a Faith Health Consortium, a group consisting of university and seminary organizations researching the role that faith traditions play in healing and health. According to Mark Rotenberg, the University's general counsel, the program was part of the effort to Âstudy and explore ways to advance community-based health care delivery."
