The Montgomery County Maryland School District assembled a committed to design their new sex education program. The new program would teach topics such as - Jesus "said absolutely nothing at all about homosexuality," and Baptists often have used the Bible "to justify hatred and oppression."
Organizations such as Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX) and Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum filed a lawsuit to stop the new program. U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams Jr. agreed and issued a temporary restraining. The Montgomery County school board is now scrapping the program and establishing a new committee to design a new program.
