Pope John Paul II, the 84-year-old pontiff, died on Saturday, April 2, 2005. John Paul was strong enough in his faith to differentiate Christianity from the other world religions. In a recent meeting with cardinals, bishops and theologians, John Paul spoke about the supremacy of Christianity.
"The theory of the limited character of the revelation of Christ, which can be complemented by other religions, is contrary to the faith of the church."
"It is wrong to consider the church as a path to salvation equal to those of other religions."
