Tennessee City Celebrates Kwanzaa while Banning Christian Nativity

What do you say about a city that bans Christian symbols, such as a Nativity during Christmas, but hosts a Kwanzaa celebration? Religious discrimination. Chris Thomas, a Probate Court Clerk in Shelby County, Tennessee, filed a complaint when he discovered the inequality practiced by County Commissioner Henri Brooks, who is hosting the event in the county administration building.

As Thomas summarized, "The reason I filed the lawsuit is because of the discrimination against Christians, Jews and other faiths by allowing the Kwanzaa celebration to happen and by not allowing us to have a ceremony. I've asked Mayor Wharton to stop it and he won't. Now I'm asking a judge to stop it."
