Delaware, Ohio County Board of Commissioners usually open their meetings with a prayer after the Pledge of Allegiance. This long-standing tradition has caught the attention of the Americans United for Separation group, which has sent letters to the commissioners, urging them to stop this tradition. The letters explain that, in order to make everyone feel welcome, prayer should not be welcome.
Commissioner Kris Jordan interprets this, "They’re trying to take religion completely out of our nation, that’s their goal."
