Empora Weighs "Christmas" and Lawsuits

The city of Emporia, Kansas is facing a decision that many towns and city face, with the ever increasing hostility against public Christianity - maintain the old, old tradition of recognizing the December holiday as "Christmas" and face potential lawsuits by organizations such as the ACLU, Americans United for Separation or Freedom from Religion, or to cave-in to the exorbitant legal fees to defend heritage and tradition and replace "Christmas" with the generic "Winter" or "Seasonal" holiday. For Emporia, the historical celebration including the telling of the story of baby Jesus, making it all the more difficult.

Said the king to the people everywhere,
"Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people, everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
The Child, the Child sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light."

‘Seasonal’ or ‘Christmas’? Board will decide
