Attorneys for the City of Oxford Mississippi have filed a motion to stop attorney Jim Waide from uttering the name Jesus or God during his opening or closing statements. Waide, representing Charles Flemons in a discrimination case, stated "I'm a private attorney. I don't represent the government. I'm speaking for myself and speaking on behalf of a private client. And I don't think there's anything in the Constitution that prohibits this type of argument."
