The Israel Antiquities Authority reported the discovery of a 3rd century place of Christian worship. Along with the structure were remains of mosaics, pottery and other Roman-era artifacts. One of the the mosaics was inscribed with Christian symbols, such as the fish, and with the word "the God Jesus Christ."
Zeev Weiss, an archaeology professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, commented, "There is no question that what they have found is connected to Christianity."
