Janice Colston attempted to hand-out religious literature on the public sidewalk near the Crowley, TX High School, after school hours. School officials stopped Colston, instructing her to move to a spot where she would have no contact with students. Colston contacted Liberty Legal Institute for advice and a letter was sent to school officials. “This demand letter is intended to send a clear message to the school district that it cannot blatantly offend the Constitution without facing legal action," said Tom Brandon, legal counsel from Liberty Legal.
