The Burrell Collection, Glasgow, changed their exhibit dating from referring to BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) to BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era). The Museum senior curator responded to the complaints received, "The reason for our current use of these terms is that we prefer not to impose a Christian dating terminology on pre-Christian and non-Christian cultures, out of respect for their beliefs and values." A spokesperson for the Catholic Church in Scotland, referred to the change as "outrageous double standards" and "yet another attack on Christianity by unrepresentative people"
