Iowa State University Professor Harassed for Position on Intelligent Design

Astronomy professor Guillermo Gonzalez, author of the book The Privileged Planet : How Our Place in the Cosmos is Designed for Discovery, has been harassed for his recognition of Intelligent Design. Most recently, a petition circulated by the professor of religious studies, atheist Hector Avalos, has been signed by faculty who oppose the teaching of intelligent design.

According to Gonzalez, "they've written stories in local papers, letters to the editor, and done interviews spreading lies and rumors about me and about intelligent design. If a professor were doing this against another professor in any other discipline, they would probably be reprimanded for it."
