A cross-like structure resides on top of the Starke water tower. The city's attorney, Terence Brown is not sure of the history of the structure - when it was placed there, who did it or if it is a cross. Lon Bevell, a local atheist, considers it an unconstitutional display of a religious symbol and has sued the city. Bevell claims it forces him to assume certain beliefs - "I don't care what people believe. I don't want anyone forcing me to believe it." The American Atheists Incorporated have joined Bevell in the lawsuit. The city's attorney is moving to have the suit dismissed.
