VA Employee Receives Formal Reprimand for Bible Verse in E-Mail

As employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs sent a brief e-mail, which include a Bible verse. The supervisor informed the entire department that expression of one's religion was not allowed. The employee contacted Matthew McReynolds, attorney for the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), who initiated a dialog with the supervisor. According to, Brad Dacus, President of PJI , "federal law requires that religious expression be treated on an equal par with other personal expression. We urge anyone who has suffered religious discrimination in the workplace to contact us immediately."
