Fidelis Watching for Supreme Court Confirmation "Anti-Religious Bigotry"

Fidelis, a Catholic organization, has launched an advertising campaign in preparation for the Senate confirmation hearings to fill the Supreme Count vacancy, left by the retirement of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. The ads followed some anti-religious comments made by Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean.

According to Joseph Cella, Fidelis President, "Given the history of anti-religious bigotry in past Senate confirmation hearings, we call on Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter and Ranking Member Senator Patrick Leahy to use their positions of leadership and prevent this vile brand of hate politics from entering this important process."
