Newsweek magazine (students of the Dan Rather school of journalism) published a story indicating U.S. interrogators desecrated the Quran to get inmates to cooperate, including flushing one book down a toilet. Newsweek has since retracted the story and apologized.
But where were the news reports when Palestinians seized Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity and used the Bible as toilet paper? One of the church priests stated "They acted like animals, like greedy monsters," gorging on food, getting drunk on wine and using the Bible as their toilet paper.
