Illinois Governor Forces Pharmacists to Fill Prescriptions Against Their Conscience

Pharmacists have been refusing to fill certain prescriptions that conflict with their conscience and beliefs. One prescription in question is the "morning after" pill, which some consider to be a form of chemical abortion. Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has declared an edict requiring all phamacists to fill all prescriptions. The American Center for Law and Justice has filed suit against the edict, claiming the state provides health-care providers with a legal "conscience clause" for cases such as this.
