The inspirational film, Facing the Giants, tells the story about a struggling high school coach who receives the message necessary to turn himself around and his entire team. But the Americans United for Separation are demanding that the Alabama, Tuscaloosa City Schools ban the films from the school. Why? Because it takes place in a Christian High School with a Christian message - and a public school should never know that such schools exit.
According to Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, "In the worldview of Americans United, there is no room for religion. The problem with that view is that it is contrary to our heritage, history and the First Amendment. The First Amendment does not require that public schools become religion-free zones."
