Americans United for Separation awarded the annual "Scrooge of the Year Award

The "Reverend" Barry Lynn and the Americans United for Separation have been awarded the annual "Scrooge of the Year" award by The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. This award is presented "to that person responsible for the silliest affront to the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays." Americans United for Separation achieved this honor when the First Baptist Church of North Augusta ministry, Laces 4 Love, offered free shoes and, as part of their gift, offered a traditional foot-washing. Lynn and his Americans United foe Separation issued a letter of protest against giving shoes to the needed, considering free shoes and washing feet to by an "unlawful blend of church and state." Perhaps Lynn is saying only church people wash their feet.
