When Senator Dennis Kruse (R-Auburn) ended a session in the House with a prayer, all was constitutionally protected. Once he included the name "Jesus," the American Civil Liberties Association of Indiana declared the prayer "offensive" and would be addressed by an ongoing prayer lawsuit. David Long (R-Fort Wayne), Senate President, indicated the use of Christ in a prayer has been deemed acceptable by the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
