The Freedom From Religion Foundation is fighting to take away the freedom to recognize the "Christ" in the Christmas season. The Menominee Michigan parks and recreation committee will be displaying a nativity with the baby Jesus and is inviting residents to include displays of their own belief systems. Annie Laurie Gaylor of Freedom From Religion wrote a letter to the city mayor indicating it is unlawful for the town to acknowledge that Christmas has any association with the birth of the "Christ." City attorney Rob Jamo acknowledged that it is close to being a legal issue.
