Tom Crouse, a pastor in Worcester, Massachusetts, responding to the pro-homosexual climate in the state, hosted a "Mr. Heterosexual" contest. Before the event could begin, local police authorities charge Crouse $6,200 to cover the extensive police protection required as a result of the aggresiveness of homosexual activitsts. This protection rivaled that of airport homeland security measures.
Brian Camenker, president of Article 8 Alliance, commenting on the homosexual activitsts and the security required against them, "They don't want the message that you can leave homosexuality or any discussion that criticizes the homosexual lifestyle to be allowed, and especially from a Christian perspective.
