Michigan Dept. of Transportation to Condemn Church to Expand Highway

The 1905 photo of the Michigan St. Paul Lutheran Church shows a dirt road between the church and school. Today that dirt road is a two-lane 45-mph highway. Michigan Department of Transportation is now plansz to widen the highway. An engineering firm for the church provided proposals to improve building safety with the highway expansion. The state counter-proposal is pay the church to condemn the facility.
