San Diego Voting for The Cross

San Diego citizens will be voting on July 26th on a proposition to preserve a war memorial with a cross by donating it to the federal government for preservation. The cross has been the center of an ACLU funded "separation of church and state" legal battle. One individual involved in preserving the cross is Chris Clark, pastor of East Clairemont Baptist Church. Pastor Clark felt God pressing a scripture verse on his heart and to get involved:

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18

Phil Thalheimer, the Jewish chairman of San Diegans for a Mt. Soledad National War Memorial, stated, "I don't want to live in a country in which other people have the right to dictate religious expression."
