Mount St. Helens Conference Presents Evidence for a Young Earth

The "Learning from Catastrophe" conference, held in Longview Washington, studied the Mount St. Helens eruption and the restoration of the area. The analysis supports the position that the Earth was formed thousands of years ago rather than millions, dramatically changed the understanding of the history of the planet. Some examples include:
  • The eruption created canyons around Mount St. Helens. One particular canyon, a scaled version of the Grand Canyon called ‘Little Grand Canyon’, was created in one day. Geologists have long held that canyons took millions of years to form.
  • The eruption created new land structures. These new structures, exceeding 25 feet in height, consist of many fine layers. It's long been held that these layers take millions of years to accumulate. The Mount St. Helens layers were formed in hours.
