The Kansas Board of Education is conducting hearings to establish the content of the 2005-2006 school curriculum. The hearings will determine how the theory of Evolution will be taught. Scientists who represent Evolution chose to boycott the hearings and, instead, speak at news conferences after the hearings.
Connie Morris, a member of the board, noted "I am profoundly disappointed that they've chosen to present their case in the shadows. I would have enjoyed hearing what they have to say in a professional, ethical manner."
Several scientists, representing Intelligent Design, are participating in the hearings.
