Michael Kolman, business jet sales director for Bombardier Inc, was told by a top executive that customers do not appreciate the fact that he did not drink or smoke. As a result of his refusal to drink or smoke due to Christian convictions, Kolman was fired. Kolman sued his former employer and won a $159,000 settlement. Malcolm MacKillop, a lawyer at Fraser Milner Casgrain, stated "Companies should not only have a human rights policy in place, but it should also be clearly implemented, posted and distributed."
