The United States Department of Justice has been correcting discrimination against religious individuals and organization by recognizing their religious freedom. For example, the department defended students who were refused letters of recommendation from their professor because they did not embrace the theory of evolution. The Justice Department corrected the professors policy to only require that students explain the theory of evolution.
Those who oppose the practice of religious freedom would prefer that the government continue to allow religious discrimination under the guise of "separation of church and state".
